The Approach and Positions of Karaite Faith

#1

Everything that exists – heavens and earth and all that is in them were created by YHWH. Only YHWH was not created, and the universe prior to its creation did not exist; the entire universe was created out of nothing: out of nothing.

#2

The existence of YHWH our Elohiym is the principle that underlies all others and is the pillar of our Torah and our knowledge. There is no power on earth that can undermine Him or His Supremacy...

#3

YHWH bears no likeness to any creature on the entire earth:

YesheYahu (Isaiah) 40:25 says “To whom then will you liken Elohiym? Or what will you compare to Him?”

Shemuel Alef (1 Sam) 15:29

29        And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for He is not a man, that He should repent.

Devariym (Deut) 6:4“Hear 0 Israel , YHWH is our Elohiym, YHWH is ONE. (No trinity or duality)

#4

Moshe was chosen by YHWH to deliver Israel out of bondage in Mitzrayim ( Egypt ). Moshe completed the job he was given.

#5

Tehilim (Psalms). 19:8 “The law of YHWH is perfect” YHWH gave Moshe a single, complete and written Torah, This Torah has been faithfully preserved and is the law that we possess to this very day. We are forbidden to add to or remove anything from it:

#6

The believer must learn the language of our Torah and its explanation. He must also be acquainted with material (study resources) that will provide him with knowledge of the scripture and its meaning, and be able to interpret it correctly so his interpretation agrees with the text and does not contradict it.

#7

Although many refused to hear them, YHWH sent Prophets to direct His people. As a result of Israel   not listening, they were exiled from their land. We are to listen and learn from these Prophets that the exile may be ended.

YHWH told Shlomoh (Solomon):

Divrei Yamim Bet (2 Chr 7:14)

14        If My people, who are called by My name shall humble themselves,  pray, seek My face and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from the heavens, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

#8

Belief in the end of days, and a great and terrible day of judgment when all will be called to account for all our deeds on earth, both good or bad, is a concept held by Karaites.

Daniyel (Daniel) 12:2:“And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever”

The righteous shall live forever while the evil-doers will live in shame forever.

# 9

We are rewarded or punished according to our decisions.

Yechezchial  (Ezek) 18:21

21        "But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

Yechezchial (Ezek) 18:24

24        "But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that a wicked man does, will he live? All his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered for his treachery which he has committed and his sin which he has committed; for them he will die.

#10.

YHWH has neither forgotten nor turned away from His people in Exile.

Devariym (Deut) 30:1-15

1          When all these blessings and curses I have set before you come upon you and you take them to heart wherever YHWH your Elohiym disperses you among the nations,

2          and when you and your children return to YHWH your Elohiym and obey Him with all your heart and with all your innermost being according to everything I command you today,

3          then YHWH your Elohiym will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where He scattered you.

4          Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there YHWH your Elohiym will gather you and bring you back.

5          He will bring you to the land that belonged to your fathers, and you will take possession of it. He will make you more prosperous and numerous than your fathers.

6          YHWH your Elohiym will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love Him with all your heart and with all your very being, and live.

7          YHWH your Elohiym will put all these curses on your enemies who hate and persecute you.

8          You will again obey YHWH and follow all His commands I am giving you today.

9          Then YHWH your Elohiym will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your land. YHWH will again delight in you and make you prosperous, just as He delighted in your fathers,

10        if you obey YHWH your Elohiym and keep His commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the Law (Torah) and turn to YHWH your Elohiym with all your heart and with all your very being.

11        Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.

12        It is not up in the heavens, so that you have to ask, "Who will ascend into the heavens to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?"

13        Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, "Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?"

14        No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

15        See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.
